Thanksgiving

I am still trying to process everything.  Seriously questioning my decision to eat meat.  My brother built the cage, killed the turkey, de-feathered it and gutted it.  I helped with the feathers but, that was the extent of my involvement.  A big thank you to Kim, Jeremy and Sara for allowing us to come over and show us what to do.

On Sunday my brother and I are going to pick up a turkey from our local nursery and take it over to Radio Acres Farm to process it.   I am bringing the kids to watch, I want them to understand where the meat they eat comes from.

a new look

This past summer Liesl saw a girl, a little older than her, with a shaved head.  She loved the look and wanted to shave her head.  I told her that we would think about it.  When Porter shaved his head she really wanted her head shaved too but, I just could not do that to my little girl.  Recently she started talking about it again so, I showed her what her hair would look like in a bob and she liked that.  We talked about it and I told her to tell me when she was ready to do it.  Well this morning she said she was ready and here is her new look.
